ARMA International Announces Second Annual LegalTech NY Track

ARMA International Partners with Kroll Ontrack for Second Annual LegalTech New York track

LegalTech New York 2011, the nation's largest and most prestigious legal technology conference and trade show, will feature the second annual full-day, comprehensive session track on records and information management for legal professionals.

 

This comprehensive track will offer practical tips and guidance on recordkeeping best practices and policy creation, implementation, and monitoring. Explore recordkeeping standards, which include best practices regarding web-based storage technology, emerging internal repository applications, and business communications via social media.

The track consists of three sessions:

Session 1: Implement, Monitor, and Update Records Policies: Practical Steps to Success

  • Review the Generally Accepted Recordkeeping Principles® (GARP®) that serve as the foundation for effective information governance and industry best practices
  • Learn best practice tips to draft, implement, test, and update records policies
  • Discuss recent cases that illustrate the risk of failing to properly manage corporate data

Session 2: Impact of Emerging Content Sources on Corporate Compliance and Risk

  • Consider the impact of cloud and web-based applications on corporate communication, data protection, and records repositories
  • Examine the proliferation of SharePoint data and its impact on corporate recordkeeping
  • Learn to incorporate GARP® when updating

Session 3: Records Policy, Technology, and Processes that Optimize Corporate Compliance and Discovery

  • Maximize efficiency by managing data in a manner that anticipates requests for electronically stored information
  • Create, implement, and monitor sound and defensible legal holds protocol
  • Achieve significant cost-savings through defensible, repeatable execution of that protocol

 

The sessions, co-sponsored by ARMA International and Kroll Ontrack, will take place Januay 31, 2011 at the New York Hilton.
