United States Department of Justice Purchases Relativity for E-Discovery Review and Legal Hold Process Management

DOJ Chooses kCura’s Web-Based E-Discovery Platform, Relativity, Including kCura’s First Application for Relativity, Method, which Manages the Legal Hold Process

Press Release – Chicago, IL, and Washington, D.C. – January 18, 2011 – kCura, developers of the e-discovery review platform Relativity, today announced with TechLaw Solutions that the Environmental and Natural Resources Division (ENRD) of the U.S. Department of Justice (USDOJ) has purchased a license of Relativity, including Relativity Analytics. ENRD has also purchased Method, kCura’s legal hold management solution.

Relativity is the flexible, scalable, easy-to-use e-discovery platform for the review, analysis, and production of electronic evidence.  Relativity provides flexible workflow capabilities, as well as accelerated review and improved investigative processes through Relativity Analytics, and the identification of conceptually similar documents.

Built in conjunction with several leading law firms, Method is a web-based workflow and notification system that runs on Relativity.  It provides a centralized way to efficiently manage legal hold and risk assessment activities.  Method’s flexible feature set gives users the ability to initiate legal holds, interview custodians to gather information, track and analyze responses, and generate reports to maintain a defensibly-sound audit trail, all through customized and repeatable workflows.

“We’re pleased that ENRD has selected the Relativity platform along with Method,” said Andrew Sieja, president and CEO of kCura.  “We look forward to working closely with their team.”

Relativity and Method were purchased through TechLaw Solutions, a pioneer in litigation support and electronic discovery management.  TechLaw Solutions manages a GSA contract for government purchase of the Relativity platform.
