CaseCentral,  the leader the leader in secure, cloud-based eDiscovery software for corporate counsel and law firms to simplify and take control of eDiscovery, announced Release 5 (R5), the next generation of its secure, cloud-based eDiscovery software.

The new release continues the company's focus on cloud computing, as well as application and infrastructure integration, e.g., data connectors for Symantec Enterprise Vault; the big news focuses on the user interface and new visualization tools.

The new browser interface in R5 is persistent across functions from search and retrieval to document review. You can open a large collection of documents to see top authors, domains, file types, and filter down to matter-relevant content. The new interface is designed with mobility in mind and browser-independent, with support for Java and AJAX.

Other updates to R5 include workflow, security, and performance. You can assign documents to work lists in addition to folders. Hot keys have been implemented to take fast action in complex reviews, e.g., type-keys can be used to bulk load documents. Security features now restrict access by IP address. And with an Oracle infrastructure, CaseCentral says R5 has improved performance because it segments and compartmentalizes online transaction processing and batch processing.
