Dictation machine generation “Digta 7”enhanced with a vast number of new functions

The Premium-device enables the transfer of dictations via Bluetooth

Naperville, IL – January 17, 2011 – Grundig Business Systems (GBS), a world market leader in the field of professional dictation systems, is launching a new dictation model generation on the market, in February 2011. The dictation machine family “Digta 7” is equipped with a vast number of innovations. The slide switch with its “Touch Pin” is a world-wide innovation in the professional dictation machine world, and it is integrated in three of the four dictation machines. It enables to feel the position of the slide switch during dictation operations because the “Touch Pin” always protrudes from the slide switch in the “Stop”-position. Also, for the first time it is possible to alter the slide switch programming. All in all, the user can decide between three different slide switch variants.

In every respect “Made in Germany”

“Grundig Business Systems has revolutionized handheld dictation operations with its new Digta 7-product range. After 50 years of experience and a particular close co-operation with our customers, we developed a new dictation machine generation laying the standard for efficiency, simplicity, safety and quality”, according to GBS Managing Director Roland Hollstein. The “Digta 7” product range was designed completely in Germany and produced in the GBS plant in Bayreuth. It consists of the Digta 7 Push which is controlled via buttons as well as the dictation machines Digta7, Digta 7 Premium and Digta 7 Premium BT which are equipped with the innovative slide switch.

Premium-dictation machines include speech recognition and Bluetooth

The Digta 7 Premium and the Digta 7 Premium BT have a wide range of integrated features, for example, speech recognition for the creation of dictation-IDs enabling the natural pronunciation of numbers. Furthermore, these dictation machines feature individually programmable function buttons allowing also dictation operations with the left hand, a position sensor, as well as dual microphones enabling dictation operations in stereo sound. GBS brings with its Premium-products now dictation machines to the market which can not only record dictations in the speech formats DSS and DSSPro but also in WAV and MP3 format. The “Digta 7” Premium dictation machines also set a new yardstick for data safety during dictation operations, with its optional 256-bit encryption.

An innovation in the dictation machine field is the UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) which can be generated with both Premium machines. The UUID provides a clear identification world-wide i.e. each dictation receives a unique number. Hence, the clear allocation to the specific file is granted. Furthermore, it will be possible for the author to look up information concerning the processing status of his/her dictation in the typing pool directly on the screen of his/her dictation machine. Moreover, the model variant Digta 7 Premium BT is equipped with Bluetooth, allowing for the first time the transfer of dictations from the handheld dictation machine via Bluetooth to a Smartphone. “This feature allows our customers more mobility during dictations than ever before allowing dictations to enter the processing stream in a faster manner”, according to the Managing Director Hollstein.

Freely configurable modes – for individual user profiles

All four dictation machines of the “Digta 7”-series are enhanced with an extra large and high contrast display. As a result, all displayed information is easily readable. Also the user interface was designed anew compared to the previous models. The proven “Easy Mode” was enhanced around a dynamic display with respect to the dictation length, and the display of the remaining rechargeable battery runtime exact to the minute. The display indicator is reduced to the basic essentials in the “Easy Mode” settings, and also the buttons are programmed with the essential dictation functions only. It is also possible to configure the display with the settings desired. Another advantage is the non-slipping and shock-absorbing Soft-Touch casing in its timeless and elegant design.

The Premium-machines of the “Digta 7” series are equipped with a Lithium-Ion-rechargeable battery. This rechargeable battery is very energy efficient and enables extra long recording times. The internal memory of all four dictation machines featuring a capacity of two gigabyte can be enlarged by means of SD-cards. The rechargeable battery in the machines can be charged either by means of the pc via USB-cable or in the docking station. An additional extra rechargeable battery can be charged in the Digta Station 447 Plus. Moreover, a headphone as well as a foot control can be connected to the docking station.
