TranscriptPad for iPad Turns Attorneys' Manual Labor into Powerful, Effective Collaboration

TranscriptPad, an iPad app that gives attorneys the freedom of complex transcript review and sharing anytime, anywhere, is now available in the App Store. Its official launch is scheduled for January 30 in New York at LegalTech 2012. The announcement was made today by Lit Software, LLC, developer of the award-winning TrialPad app for litigators.

TranscriptPad was specifically developed to enable easy transcript reading, complex review, and sophisticated annotation. Attorneys import multiple transcripts and their corresponding exhibits simply, through Dropbox, iTunes or email, and can turn on the adjustable speed scrolling text option for easy hands-free reading in landscape or portrait mode. Marking up transcripts is easy with TranscriptPad's flag tool, and creating designations with custom issue codes and color coding is only a few taps away. Information sharing is effortless: TranscriptPad allows the reviewer to export detailed or summary reports via email or print.

Decades of experience providing trial support to attorneys gives Lit Software CEO Ian O'Flaherty the knowledge to create an app that eliminates the hassles of transcript review and adds extra functionality.

"Lawyers want an intuitive interface that lets them mark up multiple depositions on a train or a plane without juggling highlighters, tape flags and post-it notes," says O'Flaherty. "They don't want to create accounts, register their documents, host them on someone else's server, or remember new passwords. And they don't want to pay for upgrades every time there's a new feature, or per-seat subscriptions every month or year. We designed TranscriptPad to meet their needs."

Kaufman, Rossin & Co. principal Michael Elkin reviews transcripts as a litigation consultant. "Reviewing transcripts the old-fashioned way is like panning for gold," he says. "You know there's something really valuable in there, and you're intent on finding it and sharing it with the attorneys. TranscriptPad brings the process into the twenty-first century. No more paper-cuts and highlighter stains. That valuable nugget is easier to find, easier to flag, easier to share."

TranscriptPad can be purchased at the iTunes App Store for a one-time cost of $49.99. More information is available atwww.transcriptpad.com.
