iCONECT Releases Advanced ECA product, INCEPT

iCONECT Releases Advanced Early-Case-Assessment and Culling Solution, INCEPT

New eDiscovery Product Helps Law Firms, Corporations and Government Agencies Accurately Estimate Time and Cost to Handle Cases; Launches New Authorized Reseller Program

LOS ANGELES, CA, Jan. 31, 2011 -- iCONECT Development LLC, a world leader in litigation support and collaboration software, today announced the general availability of its advanced early-case-assessment and culling solution, INCEPT™. The new eDiscovery product processes large volumes of case-related data; identifies responsive documents by filtering the data based on custodian, file type and file date; and – through this analysis – isolates and reduces the potential review workload. As a result, INCEPT enables law firms, corporations and government agencies to accurately estimate the potential time and cost to handle a case before they move into document review.

INCEPT employs in-depth text analytics and concept-searching to more accurately identify responsive documents as well as duplicates, near-duplicates, document type and the topics they cover in a “ground‑up approach” to assessing the potential review workload. This methodology is far more efficient than top-down approaches that use keyword-based culling to whittle down and organize a large collection. INCEPT supports the explosion/extraction of more than 530 file types and can be set to ignore valid system files from the operating system of a hard drive.

“For existing iCONECT clients, INCEPT delivers an end-to-end solution that enables documents to flow seamlessly from capture and processing through to production,” said Ian Campbell, Chief Operating Officer for iCONECT Development, LLC. “For non-iCONECT clients, INCEPT will give them the highest level of control over which documents are subject to the costs of review.”

INCEPT runs independently and can export reports into any review platform, including iCONECT nXT. Reporting is performed in the early case assessment and culling stages, which are both web-based, thereby enabling users and their clients to generate, filter or view reports.

“With its early case assessment and culling features, INCEPT will enable us to determine a precise timeline for review and corresponding budget, which are critical to helping our clients evaluate whether to proceed with a case,” said Karen Unger, CEO and Founder of American Document Management (AmDoc), a legal service provider that specializes in the electronic management of business documents for corporate America. “Being able to quickly identify relevant documents and create more productive workflows in the document-review process is a terrific value-add for our business and directly contributes to our bottom line.”

In conjunction with the product launch, iCONECT announced a new INCEPT Authorized Reseller Program to help Legal Service Providers (LSPs) drive sales through a lead referral program; sales training, enabling them to quickly master selling the product; a Not-for-Resale copy of INCEPT for demos; and marketing collateral for sales support. To ensure seamless customer installations, program members receive 90 days of free technical support on new products and releases.
